Singapore Visitors Set for a Workout
Many holidaymakers may need their cheap hotels in Singapore to be particularly comfortable at the end of May as the city hosts its marathon.
This year's event will be Singapore's inaugural night marathon, with the race setting off at 20:00 on May 31st and finishing at 11:00 on June 1st.
The Adidas Sundown Marathon is expected to attract some 6,000 competitors this year, 175 of whom will take part in the 84km (52-mile) 'ultra marathon'.
This run will use an island-wide route that runs through major parks, nature sites and housing estates throughout Singapore, including Changi Point, Bedok Reservoir and East Coast Park.
This will not be the only night event keeping people staying in cheap hotels in Singapore entertained this year, as on September 28th the city-state will host the first ever Formula One night race.
The race will take place in the Marina Bay area of the city and cover a total distance of more than 300km.
