Lovely Jubbly Ljubljana

This summer, Ljubljana, the difficult to pronounce but very popular tourist city in Slovenia, is set to offer a series of events to entertain and delight.

The country's capital, a beautiful city sat atop the river Ljubljanica, hosts a range of cultural events throughout the summer, with a Mediterranean climate to match.

Aside from an open-air cinema at the historic Ljubljana Castle, live music will be played throughout the event, including performances from the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre and the Ballet of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

In addition, the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and artists such as Marjana Lipovsek, Vadim Repin and Krysztof Penderecki will also be wowing the crowds.

Although steeped in history and possessing a great deal of tradition, modern Ljubljana has become a vibrant and exciting city for tourists to visit, with lots of cheap hotels and bars offering entertainment throughout the year.
