African Encounter

African encounter Visitors to Cape Town may encounter many unique or unusual things, but July and August have something very different - a film festival dedicated just to documentaries.

For those interested in this more cerebral form of media, Encounters provides a refreshing insight into all manner of important and topical subjects, with the screenings in Cape Town taking place between July 20th and August 5th.

The documentaries come from all over the world, though naturally enough, South African films are to the fore.

Festival organisers have not confirmed locations yet, but last year the NU Metro cinema was joined by screenings at the Victoria and Albert Waterfront.
