Cape Crusade

Cape crusade Those who fancy seeing South Africa at its best will often look to the wonderful setting of Cape Town, but between March 6th and the 25th, when the Cape Town festival takes place, it gets even better.

Based on the "one city, many cultures" theme, the festival aims to bridge long-standing cultural and ethnic gaps between the black, white and coloured communities in the Cape through a huge range of art, music, theatre and dance from the various communities in the country.

A particular highlight is the Human Rights Day concert on March 21st, while events are all free to ensure nobody is excluded from the party.

Visitors staying in cheap hotels in the city can enjoy a range of other attractions in the city.

These vary from beautiful beaches such as Camps Bay, the fabulous views from Table Mountain, wineries in the nearby towns of Stellenbosch and Paarl, the penguins at Boulders Beach and boat trips to the historic Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years.
