Durbrun

Durbrun Visitors to South Africa's favourite beach resort will be able to watch or take part in what has become one of South Africa's major sporting occasions, The Spar Mercury Ladies 10km Challenge road race.

Ladies or those dressed as ladies can take part in the event, which is held on the 24th of June, although this particular event can only be entered by those with South African citizenship, according to organisers.

Spectators will be able to watch the competitors battle it out against each other and the twin challenges of the steep ridges of inland Durban and the sub-tropical humid climate.

The race finishes at the Sahara Stadium at Kingsmead, best known as the city's international cricket venue and handily placed very close to the seafront, where there are plenty of cheap hotels, beach bars, nightlife and the golden mile, offering plenty of sand and some excellent surfing.

Durban also offers good nightlife and restaurants in the Morningside district, where other attractions such as the city's zoo are located.
