Kite Town
Visitors to the Cape at any time of the year will be able to find numerous things to do but in October those who enjoy kite flying will be able to enjoy a very special festival.
The Cape Town International Kite Flying Festival, which takes place on the 20th and 21st of October, is run by Cape Mental Health as a fundraising event, meaning those who take part are not just putting on a spectacular series of displays but also raising funds for a good cause.
Event organisers have promised plenty of entertainment and kite-making classes on top of the spectacular shows in the sky.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels in Cape Town can enjoy a wide range of other activities as well.
These vary from walking or taking a cable car up Table Mountain, visiting the historic former prison at Robben Island, wading in the sea with the penguins at Boulders Beach or visiting one of the many wineries.
