Visitors to South Africa will have a great event to enjoy if they head up north to Pretoria, with the Pretoria Show offering a vast range of entertainment between August 22nd and September 2nd.
The event, held at the Tshwane Events Centre, still retains its traditional agricultural element but now also has fun for all the family, with details outlined in the published programme of events.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels can enjoy an amusement park for the children, camel rides, plus various lectures on animal / agricultural themes, particularly conservation, plus cake making demonstrations and the Miss Pretoria beauty pageant.
The city of Pretoria has now been officially renamed Tshwane, except for the central area which has kept the old name.
However, those with an eye for history can still see many old Afrikaner monuments, while the city is famous for its many lilac-blossomed jacaranda trees.
