WOW for Women

WOW for women South Africa will be celebrating all things feminine this August as the Cape WOW (Women of the World) Women's Festival gets underway in Cape Town.

Coinciding with National Women's Day on August 9th, the event aims to honour the spirit of women by educating and empowering females, both in Africa and across the rest of the world.

Previous festivals have addressed subjects such as gender education and skills development for women and this year's celebration is once again expected to generate an increased awareness of women's issues.

Some 16,000 people are expected to attend the festival, which includes seminars and workshops as well as music, dance and theatre performances for women and their families.

August is typically a quiet month for tourism in South Africa so visitors will be able to take advantage of some cheap hotel deals and explore this beautiful country, taking time to see sights such as Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront without the crowds.
