A Wheely Good Event
Cycling fans who have enjoyed the Tour de France can enjoy another big event in the Iberian peninsula when the Tour of Spain takes place, climaxing in Madrid on 23rd September 2007.
The race begins in Vigo on the 1st of September, wheeling its way round the country, though mountains, along the coast and over the plain before finally ending in the capital.
A number of the sport's big names can be expected to take part in an event that attracts large and passionate crowds all around the land.
Those heading to Madrid to see the closing stages and the presentation of the winner's trophy will be able to combine this excitement with the many attractions of the city.
Among these are a very wide range of museums and art galleries, reflecting Madrid's place at the heart of Spanish culture, while sports fans may want to take a trip to the vast Bernabeu Stadium, where David Beckham may no longer be on view but the Spanish Liga championship trophy is.
