Ancient Egypt Comes to Barcelona
Barcelona will be playing host to visitors from the mysterious world of Ancient Egypt this year.
Until September 30th, the Museu Egipci will host an exhibition called Sarcophagus of Ancient Egypt, which will include 30 stone coffins and even a mummy.
The sarcophagi were for members of the family who served the god Karnak in the gardens of Amun, who was another great deity in Egyptian mythology, around 650BC.
People staying in cheap hotels in Barcelona will also be able to examine a number of funeral objects that were used by five generations of priests in the temple gardens of Amun.
Most of the pieces in the exhibition were discovered in 1903 but this is the first time that they have been put on show to the public.
Visitors can find Barcelona's Museu Egipci on Carrer Valencia in the city's Eixample district.
