Barcelona Explores Iranian Graphic Design
People staying in cheap hotels in Barcelona over the coming months will be able to explore the little-known culture of modern graphic design in Iran.
The city's Casa Asia venue will host a poster exhibition exploring this form of art until April 13th.
Various elements of the medium will be brought together for the show, from its roots to the latest trends that have emerged in contemporary Iranian posters and designs.
Nearly 30 works will be included in the exhibition, which has set a goal of breaking down the cultural and social stereotypes associated with the Middle East and Asia.
Curator Eric Olivares said that the aim of the display is to "show the other side of the coin" and offer an insight into the various cultures that exist in Iran.
He added: "This exhibition surpasses what we see here in Barcelona in every way, in its impact, beauty, colour, calligraphy and elegance."
Until May 25th this year, Barcelona's Casa Asia will be hosting an exhibition exploring contemporary photography in China, which includes the work of a large group of artists born after 1960.
