Barcelona 'offers Something for Everyone'
Travellers planning stays in cheap hotels in Barcelona have been reassured that they will find plenty to do in the city, regardless of their budget.
Maria Luisa Albacar-Fracanzani, head of foreign relations at Barcelona Turisme, said that the destination has a "wide range of offerings" that visitors can enjoy without spending too much.
Ms Albacar-Fracanzani also commented on the importance of Britain as a source market for Barcelona, highlighting the fact that low-cost flights make the city highly accessible for people travelling from the UK.
"The British are the number one tourists in Europe using low-cost flights, therefore when flights are cheap the rest is really peanuts.
"The top five cultural hotspots in Barcelona are Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera, Park Guell, Picasso Museum [and the] Miro Foundation."
The comments follow a survey carried out by OnePoll which found that Barcelona is the leading holiday hotspot in Europe, followed by Paris, Rome, Venice and the Lake District.
