Barcelona to Focus on the Culture of China
Travellers staying in cheap hotels in Barcelona this year will have opportunities to learn more about the vast and fascinating Asian nation of China as museums around the city host exhibitions on the country.
In the year when the world's most populous nation is to host the Olympic Games, three museums will explore its culture.
February will see the Miro Foundation displaying Swiss diplomat Uli Sigg's collection of contemporary Chinese art.
This will consist of 50 pieces by various artists, created between the years of 1986 and 2006.
People looking forward to staying in a hotel in Barcelona for the summer can find an exhibition organised by Gao Minglu, who specialised in the artistic trends of China, at the CaixaForum in June.
The Catalan city's calendar will also feature a show at the Centre of Contemporary Culture in November called 'The China of Dreams and the China of Reality'.
This exposition will adopt the challenge of making viewers think about the processes and significance of urban change in China.
