Barcelona Warms Up for Half Marathon in February
People staying in cheap hotels in Barcelona next February will have the opportunity to be a part of one of the highlights of the city's sporting calendar.
The Barcelona Half Marathon will take place on February 14th.
Participants run a 21km route that takes in some of the city's most famous landmarks, while those who are not quite up to the full distance can take part in the 10km race.
The main course starts and finishes on Passeig Lluis Companys, passing well-known locations and attractions such as La Rambla, Placa de Catalunya and Avinguda Diagonal along the way.
Barcelona's half marathon is the first long-distance race held in the city every year.
It is traditionally seen as the warm up to the full marathon, which takes place in March.
Other highlights of the sporting calendar in Barcelona and the surrounding region next year will include the Formula One Grand Prix, which is scheduled for May 9th.
