Cave in to Cava
Those who like the traditional product of Catalonian viniculture can enjoy Cava in its heartland in early October.
Cava Week takes place between October 6th and 11th in the town of San Sadurni de Noya, when the chance to enjoy the traditional glass of bubbly stuff is combined with feats and festivities to mark the heritage of the town as the largest producer of Cava in Catalonia.
The main highlight occurs on the 6th of October, when visitors staying in cheap hotels in the area be able to see the crowning of the Cava Queen, who will arrive with her ladies in waiting and head up the parade as it heads through the town square, accompanied by the Barcelona mounted police.
Food, concerts and even the International Cava Congress take place on the following days, while those looking to explore a bit can look around the vineyards and enjoy the fine local scenery.
