Champions League Draw Sends Arsenal to Spain

Champions League draw sends Arsenal to Spain The draw for the quarter-final stage of the 2009 Champions League was made today (March 20th), providing a number of opportunities for football fans to embark on a European holiday.

Arsenal supporters will be able to book cheap hotels in Valencia and combine a city break with their team's match at nearby Villarreal.

Trips to Barcelona could also prove a popular option as the mighty Barca have been paired with another giant of European football, Bayern Munich, in what is sure to be a competitive tie.

Also travelling to the Iberian peninsula will be reigning European champions Manchester United and their fans for a game against Porto, who are underdogs this year but won the competition in 2004.

The highlight of the draw, however, is the pairing of Liverpool and Chelsea. This will be the fifth successive year that these two sides have met in the Champions League, a run of games that has created a bitter rivalry between them.

With the first games in each tie scheduled for April 7th and 8th and the deciding legs being played a week later, football fans will be booking their cheap hotels soon to ensure they don't miss the sporting spectacle.
