Cheap Hotels in Valencia for a Night at the Opera

The architecture of the modern opera house is something of a spectacle in itself, but Lorin Maazel's production of Lucia di Lammermoor is certainly one to watch and fall in love with.
Gaetano Donizetti's tragic story tells the tale of a betrothed woman, Lucia, who falls in love with a political enemy of her family, Edgardo. They both keep their love a secret and promise to marry one day.
However, time runs out and Lucia is forced to marry her betrothed. On the day of the wedding, Edgardo arrives and tells the guests that they too are engaged. But he is too late as the marriage has already taken place.
Distraught, Lucia kills her new husband, collapses and dies. Edgardo finds that he must kill himself also to be with her in death.
The tragic opera will be showing until February 9th and visitors to Valencia can also enjoy the city's shops, museums and vibrant nightlife during their stay.
