Concerts in Catalunia
Barcelona is a city famous for culture, sunshine and football, but it has a treat in store for classical music lovers as well when the Palau 100 concert series begins in October.
Running through to April next year, the concerts are held in the Palau de la Musica Catalana, a Unesco world heritage site.
Orchestras lined up for the concert series include the London Symphony Orchestra, the City of London Sinfonia, Baltimore symphony orchestra and Orquestra Revolucionaria i Romantica.
Outside the concert hall, visitors to the Catalan capital have a wealth of attractions to enjoy, from the Mediterranean coast, through to the famous modernist architecture of Gaudi and the vast Camp Nou, home to football giants and current European Champions Barcelona.
The city offers a wide array of accommodation for visitors, including plenty of cheap hotels.
The city can also be a base for a wider tour of the region, including attractions such as the Mountain of Montserrat and the Penedes wine region, where Cava is produced.
