Modern art enthusiasts should pay a visit to the CaixaForum during stays in cheap hotels in Barcelona over the coming months to see a fascinating exhibition.
Until June 14th, the cultural centre will present an exploration of the creative process behind Miquel Barcelo's dome at the UN headquarters in Geneva.
The display uses a model, photographs and audiovisual techniques to show how Barcelo thought up and implemented his idea for the artwork.
He spent a year-and-a-half coming up with the sea design that would eventually feature at the UN building, a creation that visitors to the CaixaForum can plunge themselves into at the exhibition.
Barcelo, who was born in Mallorca, has been commissioned for a variety of art projects during his career, including the design of a church to look like the underside of a ship.
