Etruscan Civilisation Invades Barcelona
Barcelona will be exploring the ancient Etruscan civilisation in a special exhibition running over the coming months.
People staying in cheap hotels in Barcelona will be able to find the Etruscan Princes: Between East and West display at the CaixaForum until May 4th.
This fascinating showcase brings together 170 artefacts from some of the major museums in Italy and France's famous Louvre.
The exhibition focuses on the period between the ninth and third centuries BC, when the Etruscan culture was spreading through Italy, into the provinces of Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio and others.
Recent years have shed more light on the ancient civilisation after a number of studies were carried out, providing details on Etruscan art, religion and social structure.
Another exhibition that people staying in cheap hotels in Barcelona will be able to explore at the CaixaForum over the coming months is Chaplin in Images.
This show was opened at the end of 2007 to mark the 30th anniversary of Charlie Chaplin's death and includes documents, posters, film extracts and more offering an insight into his life and work.
