Eurozone 'still Offers Good Value'

Eurozone 'still offers good value' Despite the low value of the pound, eurozone hotspots may be more affordable than many people expect this year, according to a new study released by the Post Office.

The 2009 Holiday Costs report found that Spain is the most affordable of the leading eurozone destinations, suggesting that cheap hotels in Valencia and Barcelona could be a viable option for many travellers.

Basing its findings on the cost of ten typical holiday items, the Post Office found that Bulgaria was the cheapest of 18 destinations surveyed, with both Spain and Portugal also featuring in the top ten.

Sarah Munro, head of travel services for the Post Office, said: "The eurozone has taken a bashing this year but our survey suggests that tourist outlets in many resorts are taking dramatic steps to encourage tourists.

"Despite the weak pound, this means that UK tourists who shop carefully could find that they get more than expected for their money."

The Post Office released a report last month which revealed that Budapest is the most affordable destination for a city break this spring, followed by Warsaw and Prague.
