Fermin Fun Fest
Pamplona's reputation as a place where it all happens is well established, not least by the Fiesta de San Fermin, when the life and times of the city's patron saint is marked by a spectacular nine days of partying between July 6th and 14th.
The festival has a huge range of events; a mid-day rocket set off on the 6th to literally launch the festival with a bang followed a the huge crowd spraying each other with champagne; a huge public procession carrying an effigy of San Fermin on the 7th; a wide range of shows and of course the famous custom of bull running, which happens daily and is not for the faint-hearted.
All this comes with a huge amount of music, street partying, food and drink, but probably not a lot of sleep.
Pamplona has plenty of accommodation for visitors, including cheap hotels.
