Float on Down
Those who love the life aquatic may find late April and early May a great time to head to Mallorca, as the 21st Palma international Boat Show takes place.
Held in the old Quay and costing €5 (£3.27) to attend, the event features hundreds of pleasure boats, large and small, and runs from 10:00 to 20:00 local time.
Apart from the showcase of the best of leisure boating, visitors can indulge in the activity themselves, just one of many things for people staying in cheap hotels to do in Palma.
The town is well equipped with sun, sand, surf and nightlife, with plenty of places to eat, while those venturing away from the sea will be rewarded with fine views and scenery in the Tramuntana Mountains.
It is also possible to enjoy Palma and its many historic buildings on an open top bus tour.
