Harlem Globetrotters to Hit Valencia
Basketball exhibition team the Harlem Globetrotters will set off on a European tour this year that will take in destinations all over the continent.
People staying in cheap hotels in Valencia will be able to see them at the Pabellon Fuente San Luis on May 22nd as part of the Spanish leg of the tour, which will also visit destinations including Madrid and Barcelona.
Other cities to be visited by the Globetrotters this year include Rome (May 4th), Geneva (May 6th), Paris (May 13th) and Lisbon (May 30th).
The Harlem Globetrotters have a history stretching back more than 80 years and over past eight decades they have played more than 25,000 games, entertaining presidents, popes and members of royalty.
In 2000, Globetrotter Michael 'Wild Thing' Wilson set the world record for the highest vertical slam dunk when he successfully dunked the ball in a basket that stood at a height of 12 feet.
The current team includes 'Skyscraper' Alleyne and 'Tiny' Lawrence, both of whom are over seven feet tall.
