Places to Visit in Ibiza
For most tourists taking a short trip to Ibiza most will base in Ibiza Town the islands capital city. The winding lanes of the port area and cobbled streets in the old town are picturesque and intriguing to explore. There are endless restaurants and designer shops to enjoy as well as vibrant and exciting nightlife.
San Antonio is Ibiza’s second largest city and another popular choice for tourists. Most visitors spend their time in the West End in San Antonio but the other areas are also well worth exploring. The bay offers a great selection of bars and restaurants to try out and Sunset Strip has a great vibe and atmosphere.
San Jose is a quieter mountain village with a relaxing atmosphere. Sa Talaia, Ibiza’s highest hill can be found here and is ideal for a walk or drive to the top.
Eating Out in Ibiza
Sa Caldera serves superb seafood dishes. The exclusive restaurant has become popular with business travellers as a way to impress clients with the great cuisine. It is also ideal for couples celebrating special occasions.
El Corsario is an excellent restaurant situated in the El Corsario Villa. The lush draping flowers, nearby hilltop fortress and views over the harbour makes the setting magnificent. The restaurant serves excellent cuisine with specialities including various pasta dishes and seafood fresh from the harbour. Reservations are usually required.
For a more casual bit to eat Meson Ferju is an excellent tapas bar where the food comes free alongside each drink that is ordered. Club Nautico is ideal for shoppers serving great tapas and local flavour simple meals.
Ibiza Night Life
During summer months Ibiza becomes a clubbing capital. There are endless bars and clubs to experience. San Antonio just twenty minutes from Ibiza and also has a varied and vibrant nightlife with plenty of bars and restaurants to try.
For sometime more low key Mei is a new modern bar open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday in the Es Pratet area of town. Bar Itaka opens each night from midnight featuring top musician with a mix of flamenco, jazz and jam sessions.
Further Afield
Formentera is Ibiza’s sister island, which can be visited easily on a sea cruise. The crystal clear sea and white sands add to the tranquillity of this beautiful location. It’s an ideal spot to visit for a break and to enjoy some solitude.
From the Airport to Ibiza
A taxi rank is available outside Arrivals at the airport. A ride into the centre of Ibiza Town takes just ten minutes and San Antonio and Santa Eulalia are both thirty minutes away. Taxi’s charges can vary depending on the time of day and amount of luggage.
Buses run every half-hour transferring to Avenida Isidoro Macabich in twenty minutes. The buses also provide plenty of luggage space.
Although for a short weekend visit there is plenty to do in one spot in Ibiza for a longer stay car hire is ideal to be able to discover all of the island. The small size of Ibiza makes this so much easier as there is only ever short drives between one stop to the next.
