Jerez One to Enjoy

Jerez one to enjoy For those who enjoy a bit of traditional Spanish music, the town of Jerez near Cadiz hosts its own flamenco festival, running from February 23rd to March 10th.

Set in the homeland of flamenco, the fortnight features a grand array of performances as the guitar, castanets and fast-moving heels of the dancers take centre stage in several locations, including the Teatro Villamarta, Bodega Los Apostoles and Ciclo Cafe Cantante.

Apart from the music, Jerez and Andalusia offer a wide range of attractions for visitors staying in cheap hotels.

The coastline has a host of fine beaches, sunny weather and traces of Moorish history, including the last stronghold at the spectacular Alhambra Palace in Granada.

Those keen on venturing south can see visit Gibraltar with its rock and determinedly British population, (it voted 99 per cent against joint sovereignty with Spain in 2002) or even hop on a ferry across the straits to Morocco.
