Look out for Zhu Yi in Barcelona
People staying in cheap hotels in Barcelona over the coming months should keep their eyes peeled for Zhu Yi, a special exhibition in the city.
Zhu Yi, which means 'look out' in Mandarin Chinese, will feature the work of young Chinese artists and explore their views on issues ranging from their home cities to their dreams for the future.
The exhibition, which will run at the Palau de la Virreina until May 25th, will encompass 109 photographs taken by 31 artists between 1994 and 2006.
It is part of an ongoing interest in China shown by the museums and galleries of Barcelona, with the Joan Miro Foundation hosting a display of contemporary Chinese art at a special exhibition this year.
The Catalan city is not the only destination to be exploring the culture of China this year, as people staying in cheap hotels in London will be able to attend a number of events that are part of the 'China in London' season.
Among the highlights are performances by visiting artists from Beijing and Chinese film festivals at the British Museum, the British Film Institute, the Docklands Museum and others.
