Madrid to Host Female Fair for Fashionistas
Madrid's international fashion fair, the Salon Internacional de Moda de Madrid (SIMM), is set to be a hotspot for industry moguls this September.
SIMM, or Madrid International Fashion Week as it is more commonly known, takes place between September 1st and 3rd 2006.
The last time the festival was held, just under 32,000 professionals were in attendance, to view over 2,000 represented female clothing brands, with similar numbers expected at the next event.
With representatives of over 1,000 companies from 34 nations, organisers claim that the event is the second most important European trade event for the fashion industry.
SIMM also aims to highlight the strong presence of brands from Portugal, France and Italy, while Latin American companies also feature heavily, from Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Colombia, Mexico and Ecuador.
There were also a large number of buyers present from outside Spain at the last event, with more than 3,000 professionals representing 69 countries.
