Majorca Foundation Shows off Miro Collection
Art lovers staying in cheap hotels in Majorca this year will be able to marvel at a local gallery's collection of works by Joan Miro.
The Joan Miro Foundation put its full collection of pieces by the artist on display at the beginning of the year and will keep the exhibition open until the end of 2008.
Presented with the aim of showcasing the full diversity of work held by the foundation, the display offers visitors a detailed look at Miro's techniques, tools, materials and creative processes.
Miro worked in painting, sculpting and ceramics and was a significant member of the Surrealist movement, alongside fellow Spanish artist Salvador Dali.
Visitors to Majorca can get a more extensive look at his work by looking at his Sert and Son Boter workshops, as well as the Miro Foundation's gardens, which contain some of his large sculptures.
People staying in cheap hotels in Barcelona can also learn about the life and work of Miro with a visit to the city's foundation dedicated to the artist at Montjuic.
