Malaga Parties in August

One of the largest and most popular parties on the Costa del Sol, the Feria de Malaga, is set to take place again this August.

Running between August 11th and 20th 2006, the event will offer visitors a chance to sample the local delicacies and tipple to their heart's content.

Throughout the day the city is entirely transformed, with horses carrying people decked out in traditional garb, while thousands of locals and visitors dress up and line the streets.

Decorated food stalls offer a wide selection of local foods, which can be enjoyed with a sweet Malaga wine or vino fino (sherry).

The daytime festivities also feature music and dancing, but it's at night when the real partying begins, with even more food and drink readily available.

Fireworks light up the port, illuminating over 200 pavilions and entertainments such as flamenco dance, pop acts and pena music groups.

The city itself is a popular tourist resort throughout the summer, with cheap hotels and a range of entertainments to keep visitors coming back for more.
