Miro Foundation Welcomes Japanese Artists

Miro Foundation welcomes Japanese artists This year the Joan Miro Foundation in Barcelona will be opening its doors to young and exciting Japanese artists.

A cycle titled Kawaii! Japan Now will include five exhibitions, which people staying in cheap hotels in Barcelona can see until July 20th.

The displays are designed to provide a portrait of present-day Japanese society, exploring the styles and interests of young, modern artists while also considering the culture and history of the land they grew up in.

Visitors will see paintings, drawings, sculptures, animated films, photographs and installations.

The exhibitions comprise the Miro Foundation's 2007-08 Espai 13 season. This initiative, which coincides with the academic year, has for years paid special attention to the work of young, experimental artists.

People staying in cheap hotels in Barcelona this year can also see a collection of contemporary Chinese art at the Miro Foundation, which will be on display until May 25th.
