See Two of Spain's Giants Do Battle
Sports fans visiting Valencia in December, and also those staying in hotels in Barcelona, if they fancy a trip down the coast, could be treated to seeing two of Spain's biggest football sides clash at the Mestalla.
On December 16th Valencia host the former La Liga champions in one of Spanish football's heavyweight clashes.
The home side will be eager to get a result on their own turf in their first match of the season against the Catalan giants.
Valencia are one of Spain's foremost sides, having won the domestic league in 2002 and 2004 and completed a Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup double in 1999, but in recent years they have been overshadowed somewhat by the behemoths of Barca and Real Madrid.
Both Valencia and Barcelona have made fairly steady starts to the 2007-08 season, with Ronaldinho and pals taking 17 points from their first seven games, four more than their league rivals.
The Mestalla side will be hoping, if they still trail Barca in December, that this home fixture will provide a golden opportunity to make up some ground on Frank Rijkaard's men.
