Sondheim's Songs in Barcelona
People staying in cheap hotels in Barcelona over the coming months will be able to celebrate the work of legendary composer Stephen Sondheim.
Until April 30th, the city's Teatre Gaudi will host a collection of scenes and songs created by Sondheim.
The show will reveal the range of emotions and experiences encompassed in Sondheim's extensive portfolio of work.
Setting out with the aim of removing any sense of fiction and artifice from the composer's productions, the series of performances is characterised by an interest in the human spirit that defined much of Sondheim's work.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels in Barcelona before April 2nd who have an interest in modern European history may want to find out more about a series of films on a reunified Germany, which will be showing at the Goethe Institute.
The programme of movies, which is free to attend, will include pieces including Andreas Dresen's Silent Country and Forget America by Vanessa Jopp.
