Valencia Hope for Better Fortunes in New Season

Valencia hope for better fortunes in new season The 2008-09 La Liga season is on its way and Valencia will be one of the sides eyeing up the campaign as an opportunity to make up for past disappointments.

Valencia have been league champions many times in the past and, in the likes of David Villa and Joaquin, have some of Spain's best players in their squad.

They underachieved last year, however, eventually finishing in tenth position, a massive 34 points behind champions Real Madrid.

People staying in cheap hotels in Valencia will have plenty of opportunities to see how the side get on as they bid to return to former glories, with home games including a fixture against Deportivo La Coruna on September 28th.

Numancia will then be the visitors to the Mestalla on October 19th, in a match Valencia will be expecting to win seeing as the visitors are one of the three sides to be promoted from Spain's second division this year.

The east coast side will face a tougher proposition on November 2nd with the visit of Racing Santander, who finished four places and nine points ahead of Valencia last season.
