Valencia Revs Up for Euro GP
The Spanish city of Valencia will soon begin preparing itself to host its first ever European Grand Prix.
Racing fans should book their cheap hotels in Valencia soon if they are hoping to attend the Grand Prix, which will take place on August 24th.
The race will take place on a brand new 3.4-mile street circuit located in Valencia's harbour.
Spectators will be situated at various points along the track, which passes the water's edge and snakes through nearby suburbs before heading along the River Turia and returning to the port.
The European Grand Prix, which is a separate Formula One event that was reintroduced in the mid-1980s, has been held at Germany's Nurburgring every year since 1999.
After seven races, the 2008 Formula One World Championship was a tight affair, with Robert Kubica in top spot with 42 points, four points ahead of both British star Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari driver Felipe Massa.
