Areas of Interest in Valencia

Plaza del Ayuntamiento - The area around town hall is full of must see sights. These include the central market, lonja, flower market, post office all surrounded by pavement cafes.

Plaza del Cedro - This area is were the Valencian's love to flock to and is full of trendy bars, pubs and restaurants. The plaza is just off Aenida Blasco Ibanez its easy to reach and great to explore.

Eating Out in Valencia

Cubanito Lounge (9 Calle Murillo) A great new restaurant /bar and also art gallery in El Barrio del Carmen, just a stone throws from the Torres de Quart. Serving salads, tapas with a great selection of desserts. House favourite potatoes with salsa sauce.

Entretapas y Vino (19 Guillen de Castro) The name gives this one away, a specialist in tapas and fine wine. The minimalist interior and helpful staff make this a fine place to visit. The restaurant also has a sister at 13 Salamanca serving up similar food and friendliness.

Bamboo this is not a Chinese takeaway but a fine basement restaurant serving up classic Mediterranean dishes. This place is open all week from morning till night, and offers a fantastic lunch set menu for only 13 Euro. 

Nightlife in Valencia

Ghecko  (2 Plaza Negrito)
This bar is always very busy at weekends but if you can get there before 11pm this gorgeous little bar is worth a visit.

Wah Wah (52-54 Plaza del Cedro)
This is one of Valencia's few live music venues, hosting bands from indie, alternative and underground music scene who play for fun to a relaxed crowd.

Calcata (Calle Reloj Viejo, Barrio del Carmen)
The well hidden bar and club, is located over three floors and has a courtyard in old traditional Valencian style. This is one of the few bars in Valencia that is open past 3 am.

Green Day  (Museo de Bellas Artes, 9 Calle san Pio V)
Jardines del real is one of Valencia's well kept secrets housing a petting zoo, fine art museum and spectacular gardens. 

Politics in action
Farmers from all over the Comunidad congregate on the steps of the Cathedral every Thursday morning to discuss there rights and gripes at the water tribunal. 

Further Afield from Valencia

Gandia- this popular destination is a huge hit with the Spanish. The town is less than an hours train journey down the coast. You can either explore this great old city or visit the beach at Grau de Gandia.

The main Correos (post office) at Plaza del Ayuntamiento has been restored to its former glory, including the stunning tower that makes it look like a big wedding cake topped by a shiny cherub.

From Airport to the City of Valencia

Taxi's from the Airport to the city centre cost between 12-15 Euros.

Bus Aero-Bus runs a return service every 20 minutes from the departures area to the city centre, costs 2.50euro (daily 06.00-22.00)
