Hear It Crystal Clear
Sweden in summer is an attractive enough place to start off with, with its wide open spaces, great scenery and long daylight hours, but for music fans July and August offers something extra.
The Music in the Kingdom of Crystal festival sees an eclectic mixture of styles in a variety of locations, both indoors and out, set in a region of southern Sweden famous for its glassmaking.
Fans of Jazz and chamber music will be able to enjoy concerts between July 27th and August 5th around the towns of Vaxjo and Nybro as well as exploring the glass-making heritage of the area.
The area has 15 glassworks, with the Glaskonst festival also running in August, showcasing a wide variety of items, while visitors can also see at first hand the art of glass blowing.
Visitors to the Crystal Kingdom will find plenty of accommodation, including cheap hotels.
