Sama but Different
Those who like their music a bit different can always look to Scandinavia and not just during the Eurovision Song Contest, as there's more where Lordi came from.
Proof of this shows up in the Swedish second city of Gothenburg, where the Scandinavian Alternative Music Awards (Sama) takes place on April 6th 2007.
Held in the Tradgarn, the event will hand out prizes for categories such as best song, best album, best club / festival and best newcomer.
Tickets cost 370 SEK (£27) and are said by organisers to be selling fast, so it's best to buy quickly as a sell-out is expected.
Apart from the festival, Gothenburg offers a wide range of things to see and do for visitors staying in cheap hotels.
The city has plenty of museums, theatres and cinemas, interesting buildings like the Elfsborg fortress, football and athletics in the Ullevi Stadium and a charming archipelago which can be reached by car ferry from the city.
