Sample The Nutcracker in Stockholm

Sample The Nutcracker in Stockholm People staying in cheap hotels in Stockholm will be guaranteed an unforgettable festive experience this year if they head to the city's Royal Opera House.

From December 4th to January 11th 2009, visitors to the Swedish capital will be able see The Nutcracker, a perennial Christmas favourite, at the Opera House.

This version of the ballet may be slightly different from the one that visitors are familiar with as it combines the elements of Tchaikovsky's music and story with the Swedish children's tale of Petter and Lotta.

The two children of the title are enjoying Christmas Eve before being whisked into a magical world full of strange characters such as the Mouse King and the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Performances of the Nutcracker will not be held every day during the show's run as there will be a number of other performances over the Christmas period.

Visitors will be able to see operas including La Boheme and Tosca as well as operatic versions of well-known tales such as Samson and Delilah and Bathsheba.
