Stockholm's Summer Sport

Future Olympians and prospective soccer stars may want to head to Stockholm this week, as the summer games gets underway.

Starting on June 28th and ending on July 2nd, the games feature soccer, swimming, wrestling, beach volleyball and many other sports.

Thousands of competitors from around the world are invited to participate in the event, which will be held in sports ground across the city.

Entrants from between the ages of eight and 18 are welcome to match their skills, stamina and mental toughness against one another – but in addition to the sports a host of other activities will be taking place.

The Stockholm summer nights disco will allow the youngsters and teens an opportunity to meet and socialise with others from all over the globe in what is set to be a truly multinational event.

And it's not just the competitors who will get a chance to mingle, but the coaches and leaders too, in a move designed to generate a spirit of international togetherness and healthy competition.
