Sweden Hosts Annual Belly Dancing Festival

Women in the Swedish capital city of Stockholm will be baring their midriffs as the annual Belly Dancing Festival gets underway.

The city is to play host to the seventh annual Belly Dancing Festival from May 25th to May 28th, which promises classes and performances from a host of international stars.

A number of teachers are expected to fly in from other surrounding Scandinavian countries to lead the classes.

Youssry Sharif, founder of the Egyptian Academy of Oriental Dance in New York, will also be attending the highly-acclaimed event.

After the organised classes, amateurs will have the opportunity to watch professionals at work.

Indian Bollywood dancers and dancers from Polynesian Pascua Island will join a variety of other belly dancing stars at the venue's three theatres.

As well as dancing, visitors will also be able to learn the traditional tabla drum, have their fortune told, browse the oriental bazaars and enjoy a drink in the many cafes.
