Swedish Park Gets Festive

Swedish park gets festive Liseberg, the amusement park in Sweden that prides itself on being the best in Scandinavia, will be eschewing the usual thrills and spills associated with theme parks to get festive from mid-November.

Right up to December 23rd, Liseberg is decorated with millions of glittering garlands and decorations. Around 80 cabins and shops open, selling a variety of Christmas-themed products.

Nearly five million separate lights are installed around the park to infuse it with an iridescent glow.

At the traditional Christmas market there are art and handicraft items for sale, knitwear to keep you warm on cold winter nights and tasty homemade delicacies.

Those with thick skin may fancy a visit to the Liseberg ice gallery and bar, where everything, from the chairs and tables to the drinking glasses, is made of shimmering blue ice.

One of the most fun features of the Liseberg Christmas celebrations is the tree decorating competition, which involves ten participants.

Liseberg park is located in Gothenburg in Sweden, which is home to a number of cheap hotels providing welcome beds after a tiring day of festivity.
