Swiss Fun at 'friendliest' Music Festival

Swiss fun at 'friendliest' music festival If this is the first you have heard about Switzerland's largest and friendliest open-air music festival, where Goldfrapp, The Who, Ziggy Marley and Placebo are going to rock this year, there is good news and bad news.

The bad news is that 220,000 music and camping fans know about the 'best kept secret' and have snapped up the tickets so the festival, starting today, is sold out.

The good news is that the very friendly organisers have set aside 1,000 tickets every day for each of the big evening concerts, and these go on sale from 09:00 BST, the morning of your chosen gig.

Six different stages will play host to a cornucopia of experiences, from street theatre to a whole area for Eastern European gypsy rhythms.

Over 100 students from the postgraduate centre at Geneva (HEI) have put their heads together to create the 'Chant des vents' as the ultimate chill out zone.

The installation is described as "a labyrinthine structure with fragile sides which captures the breeze in order to let it sing".

Like the festival illuminations called 'forest of light', the 'chant des vents' experience will also be lit up so you can enjoy it at night.
