Switzerland Offers Festival of Music

Classical music fans visiting Switzerland could be in store for a treat this year thanks to the seventh La Foila festival, which is set to take place between May 25th and 28th.

Encompassing a range of classical music performances, the event will take place in the town of Rougemont - which is located between Gstaad and Chateau-d'Oex and described by the festival's website as a "beautiful and most preserved village of the Swiss prealps".

This year's programme will see performances of Scarlatti's Salve Regina and Bach's English Suite Number Two, as well as improvised harpsichord pieces from Ruedi Lutz.

Parents staying in a cheap hotel in Switzerland will also be able to find something for their children at the festival as the first performance will be the Tour Around the World of 80 Musical Instruments for Children - which is specifically designed for those up to ten years of age.

According to myswitzerland.com, visitors to Rougemont can also take advantage of the "unspoilt traditional village" as well as an "exceptional variety of local flora and fauna".
