The Future's Brits
Anyone fancying a week with lots of variety can join a cast of thousands (of revellers) in the Swiss Alpine resort of Laax at the Orange Brits, a huge snow and music festival.
The event is held from March 10th to the 17th, with the snowboarding varying from sheer fun to serious competition, while there is also freeskiing, which people can opt in or out of as they choose.
Once the day's fun in the snow is over, the partying begins, with a series of club nights taking place at a number of venues – the Riders Palace Lobby Bar, the Crap Bar, the Riders Palace Club and the Casa Veglia.
Visitors staying in cheap hotels can enjoy all this plus the attractions of the Laax area itself.
The Vorab Glacier hangs over the valley, a vast sea of ice over 3,000 metres up, while there are plenty of ski lifts and skiing, plus hiking both at altitude and down in the valley.
