Cinema Spectacular in Bangkok
The Bangkok International Film Festival first raised the curtain on its silver screens in 1998, as part of Tourist Authority of Thailand initiative.
Taking place annually, the festival is now an established player on the world cinema festival scene, with screenings taking place each night and film premiers on the opening and closing nights of the event.
Visitors to Bangkok, world famous for its all-night entertainment and cheap hotels, will be able to attend film screenings at a number of city centre cinemas: The EGV Grand and Metropolis; the Major Cinemplex in the World Trade Centre Tower; The Apex (three screens), and SF Cinema City, Mah Boonkrong Centre.
The 2007 festival, which will run from 26th January to 5th February 2007, bestows its Golden Kinnaree Awards in numerous categories including Best Film and Best Actor awards.
Thailand is an increasingly popular tourist destination with British travellers, with hot weather and golden beaches.
