Holidaymakers who fancy mixing a bit of sun, sea and culture with a major sporting event could find just what they are looking for in Phuket from December 3rd to the 9th, at the biggest yachting regatta in Asia.
The Phuket Kings Cup, now in its 20th year, will see five days of racing in different classes, accompanied by a golf tournament, parties, a ceremony to mark the king's birthday on the 5th and an international expo at the marina.
Competitors come from all over Asia and Australasia to compete in the cup.
With so much fun in the sun guaranteed, visitors will be pleased to discover that Phuket has plenty of accommodation, including cheap hotels.
The island also has a range of additional attractions, such as boating and diving, while the nightlife is famous.
Alternatively, days can be whiled away on the white sandy beaches by the lapping waves of the azure sea.
