Bussing Around Dubai Made Easier
People staying in cheap hotels in Dubai may be more tempted to use the bus network to explore the city after hearing about 350 air-conditioned shelters that have been launched.
The cooled queuing areas have been installed at 250 busy locations, including Jumeirah, Deira, Al Wasl and Qusais.
Most hotels and indoor areas in Dubai are air-conditioned but the city itself can get extremely hot at certain times of the year.
The cooled bus shelters will also offer protection from pollution and traffic noise for people travelling around Dubai.
Jim Davies of Right Angle Media, the company behind the world's first air-conditioned bus shelters, said: "Our commitment to providing world-class public transport amenities for commuters and tourists alike remains on top of our agenda.
"We aim to make travelling in Dubai more convenient, safe and comfortable."
The best time to visit Dubai to avoid uncomfortably hot weather is between the end of September and the beginning of May.
