Desert Classic to Tee off in Dubai
People staying in cheap hotels in Dubai will be able to see some of the world's top golfers next year when the emirate plays host to a major event.
The Omega Dubai Desert Classic will take place at the Emirates Golf Club between February 4th and 7th.
Golf fans will be able to see the competition's defending champion, young Irish star Rory McIlroy, return to defend his crown next year.
In the past, the Dubai Desert Classic has been won by the likes of Tiger Woods, Henrik Stenson, Ernie Els and Mark O'Meara.
The competition is part of the PGA European Tour, which runs throughout the year and includes events in South Africa, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other far-flung destinations.
Other meetings scheduled in 2010 include the Joburg Open at the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club and the Qatar Masters at Doha Golf Club, both of which will be held in January.
