Dubai Celebrates Rhythms Across the World

Dubai may not be your typical location for a music festival but a unique event is being staged there later this year which is likely to see holidaymakers flocking.

The city's annual Desert Rhythm Festival is one of the most popular of its kind and sees musicians from across the globe perform.

Held from October 31st to November 1st, the festival sees music influences as wide ranging as Arabic, Turkish, Latin, Caribbean, South African and Western.

As well as plenty of music to shake your hips to, the event, held at Dubai Festival City, also sees belly dancers entertain and plenty of food on sale.

Already signed up for the mammoth event are the legendary Paul Weller and Caribbean act Kassav.

Its October date also means there are plenty of spook-related events, with this year's best costume competition themes being Halloween and Mardi Gras.

Dubai hotels are expected to be packed out for the festival which is set to attract large numbers of British holidaymakers.
